  • Under the direction of the COO and CMO for staffing and operational issues and Clinical Protocol. The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing personnel policies, clinical procedures, departmental protocols, and in-service education; providing advice and guidance on the interpretation of policies as they relate to clinic objectives.
  • This list may not include all of the duties that may be assigned.
    • Direct reporting and supervision of all Nurse Managers. Guide, train, and develop manager skills.
    • Oversees those responsible for clinical service personnel, including tracking and reporting of time reports, interviewing of applicants for vacancies, hiring, orientating and training new clinical service employees, conducting performance appraisals and disciplinary counseling sessions, merit wage increases and coordinating transfer, promotion or termination of clinical personnel.
    • Responsible for staffing levels and budgets for clinical service departments.
    • Develops and coordinates the training and orientation programs for clinical service personnel.
    • Scheduling of vocational, career and nursing school students for training in facility.
    • Responsible for communication, interpretation, coordinate and implementation of clinical service policies and programs.
    • Prepare reports regarding clinical services or other topics as may be requested by Administration.
    • Schedule meetings, compile review material and complete QA audit reviews as dictated by the Medical Director. Review insurance audits.
    • Travel to facilities on a regular basis to monitor facilities, and to communicate with the staff.
    • Responsible for assisting the Managers in patient complaint situations, subpoenas, medical records, and referrals.
    • Responsible for maintaining and updating all clinical manuals.
    • Provide input into all new office construction and remodeling. Attend meetings and follow through on any projects necessary.
    • Development and training of annual Safety, OSHA Training and CPR Certification for all clinical employees
    • Responsible for the training of new staff and medical protocols in clinical areas in mergers and acquisitions.
    • On call 7 days a week for any emergency situations with staffing, physicians, patients, etc. Serve as resource for all clinical personnel.


  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree in Nursing
  • Experience:
    • 5 years management experiences in a busy physician office setting.
  • Licensure:
    • R.N. / L.P.N. or 10 years of equivalent experience with a Medical Assistant Certification.

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Knowledge of management and nursing organizational theory to direct a clinical services department. Knowledge of medical and safety practices. Knowledge of the principles of finance and budgeting to develop and manage the budget. Skill in identifying problems and effective resolutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients and physicians. Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards. Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and direct the work of others.
