PRIMARY FUNCTION

This leader is a key member of the Data & Analytics leadership team and will play a critical role in building the modern enterprise-scale cloud data platform, data products, and cloud platform for enabling enterprise analytics capabilities to drive performance, business growth, and value-based care transformation. Drive the enterprise data platform strategy and implementation initiatives that will meet the enterprise analytics objectives of the organization. Direct and guide the technology professionals, including data engineer, platform engineer, and solution developer roles to plan, deliver, and lifecycle manage enterprise data products and platforms that meet the functional and non-functional requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Lead planning & delivery of end-to-end cloud data engineering, data lake, data warehouse, master data management, and technology platform capabilities for enabling enterprise analytics to drive performance, business growth, and value-based care transformation.

2) Lead design, development, and lifecycle management of scalable and automated data pipelines, data lake, master data management, data lifecycle management, and other data products to enable interactive analytics, AI/ML predictive analytics products, and digital apps.

3) Plan and deliver data pipelines with a scalable cloud-native architecture, including data ingestion (streaming, events, and batch), data integration (ETL, ELT, Azure Data Factory), and distributed data processing using SQL, Python, data services, APIs, and other development frameworks.

4) Lead planning and delivery of cloud data solutions and technology platforms using multiple technologies, such as Azure Cloud, Databricks Delta Lake, Databricks Sparks, Azure Synapse, RDBMS, NoSQL, and other Azure cloud platform services in the data & analytics technology stack.

5) Implement solution design, development, and QA best practices towards in delivery of robust enterprise-scale data products and data lifecycle management capabilities, including master data, reference data, metadata, data quality, and lineage.

6) Own end-to-end deployment, automation, release management, and lifecycle support of cloud-based production systems to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, security, and supportability.

7) Own and manage SLAs, KPIs, and critical success factors for data platforms, data services, delivery & support processes, and operations.

8) Serve as a trusted data engineering and technology leader and partner in the development of enterprise data & analytics strategy and implementation roadmaps to build a robust enterprise-scale cloud data platform and ecosystem capabilities.

9) Manage professional services vendor engagement for planning, delivery, and support of data platform, data products, and cloud platform solutions.

10) Engage with cross-functional leaders to identify pain points, business & technical requirements, and to design data solutions using best-practice patterns and modern architecture.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads the Data & Analytics team comprised of technology professionals, including data engineer, platform engineer, and solution developer roles.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Minimum BA or BS degree or higher in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required. MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline preferred. Healthcare industry knowledge highly preferred.

EXPERIENCE

· Minimum 10 years of engineering leadership experience in enterprise data platforms, including data warehouse, data lake, data pipelines, data lifecycle management, and cloud platforms.

· Minimum 5 years of engineering leadership experience in planning & delivery of robust enterprise-grade data engineering pipelines and data platforms using SQL, Python, Apache Spark, ETL, ELT, Databricks Delta Lake, and cloud platform services.

· Leadership experience in planning and executing portfolio of initiatives that build technology capabilities to serve organizational strategic goals.

· Leadership experience in developing and implementing product development lifecycle process capabilities, including Agile/Scrum and iterative development.

· Leadership experience in a cross-functional environment involving internal technology & business stakeholders and external vendor partners.

· Minimum of 3 years of people management experience, including interviewing candidate selection, talent development, coaching, and performance management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Proficiency in planning & delivery of robust enterprise-grade data engineering pipelines and data platforms using SQL, Python, Apache Spark, ETL, ELT, Databricks Delta Lake, and cloud platform services.

· Proficiency in distributed data (structured, semi-structured, unstructured, streaming) processing techniques using Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, and big data ecosystem technologies.

· Ability to lead data modeling and design for data warehouse, relational databases, and NoSQL data stores. Strong understanding of SQL and data analysis.

· Ability to influence decisions related to advanced data & analytics strategy & roadmaps, business use cases, and data platform capabilities.

· Effective communication and collaboration with internal cross functional teams, leadership team, technology partners & vendors, and end users.

· Excellent analytical, organizational skills and ability to work in a startup environment and to deliver on tight deadlines using Agile practices.

· Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Healthcare industry experience highly desired.
