Qualified candidates should possess:

  • Florida Bar REQUIRED
  • Healthcare experience required - preferably in-house counsel
  • Corporate and Employment Law experience preferred
  • Contract review and management preferred
  • Familiarity with Risk Management and Compliance and laws and regulations
  • Strong legal research skills

The Associate General Counsel will support the GC & CECO in the management of enterprise-wide legal matters, including the establishing, monitoring, and measuring organizational goals and objectives across the enterprise.


This list may be subject to change as other duties may be assigned.

1) Provide consultative legal advice to all departments across the enterprise, including leadership and the board of directors

2) Support the GC by working with government and regulatory representatives to interpret statutes, regulations and laws and provide appropriate advice and guidance

3) Responsible for the oversight of corporate governance documents and filings

4) Reviews contracts as required by enterprise stakeholders and ensures stakeholder accountability to the contracting process

5) Responsible for the ongoing implementation and optimization of the contract management process across the enterprise

6) Proactively prepare and recommend terms for contracts to align with best practices, applicable legal requirements, feedback from internal and external stakeholders, and other relevant considerations

7) Responsible for the oversight of outside counsel related to court filings, motions and other litigation matters

8) Maintain effective relationships with members of the enterprise, legal community, officials of state and federal government and others as assigned by the GC

9) Responsible for updates to or implementation of, enterprise policies and practices to comply with new or changing legal requirements

10) Research legal issues and statutory case law; draft and review memos, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documents and instruments

11) Represents the Legal department in cross functional projects, working groups, committees and ensures that all requirements and recommendations are conveyed and understood

12) Represents PA and its affiliates with the highest level of integrity, forthrightness and professionalism. Maintains public relations efforts on behalf of our clients. Performs other duties and projects as assigned by GC & CECO



· Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a practicing lawyer, preferably in-house in a healthcare environment

· Experience in corporate governance, contract administration/management, and health care practice operations preferred


A Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. Law School


Bar licensure required


· Ability to grasp issues quickly and translate them in two understandable terms

· Ability to think from a critical and legal standpoint

· Ability to work efficiently with all levels of management, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines, while producing high-quality product

· Demonstrated project management and organizational skills

· Ability to analyze facts and identify issues

· Highly dependable and trustworthy

· Contract drafting and negotiating experience

  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion
  • Ability to lead and work effectively and collaboratively within team settings and build partnerships both internal and external stakeholders

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work effectively with all tenure levels and across enterprise, departments and business units

· Highly dependable, professional integrity, good judgment, and respect for confidentiality

  • Resourceful, self-starter with advanced problem-solving abilities to deliver creative solutions

· Financial and business acumen as it relates to health care delivery

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel is required
