Summary

  • PRIMARY FUNCTION
    • Responsible for recruiting physicians for the medical staff and assisting with the development of strategic physician recruitment plans. Plan, organize and direct all aspects of the physician recruitment process. The recruiter is responsible for interviewing and referring applicants for physician positions throughout the company. Considerable skill in physician interviewing techniques and knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices. The position has the additional focus of helping to retain medical staff members through practice enhancement and development activities.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    • Responsible for full cycle recruitment of physician positions throughout the company.
    • Coordinates a comprehensive physician recruitment program to ensure an adequate complement of physicians in accordance with the needs and goals of the company. Develop recruitment strategies to achieve and maintain required physician staffing levels.
    • Assists with assessing the immediate and long-term need for physicians; and assists with developing strategies for attracting a proper mix of healthcare practitioners to the area.
    • Ensures that recruiting practices are within accepted legal regulations.
    • Analyze employment applications received to determine suitability for employment.
    • Coordinate with HR regarding background screening (AHCA), drug screening, immigration requirements and additional new hire requirements.
    • Conduct new physician orientation, providing explanations of company policies, procedures and coordinating with respective department representatives for new hire requirements.
    • Ensures the timely and effective completion of daily activities, projects and goals in collaboration with others.
    • Provides support marketing and advertising services for physicians in alignment with the strategic plan for that practice.
    • Initiates recruitment efforts with physicians in local residency programs.
    • Acts as a liaison with external physician search firms for recruitment efforts if needed.
    • Performs other related duties and completes special projects.
    • Manages personnel and programs that relate to physician practice enhancement and physician development activities.
  • PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s Degree in area of specialty or related field. Commensurate work experience may be substituted for education.

    • Licensure:

    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
      • Knowledge of personnel practices and theories of employment law. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgement and discretion to achieve organizational objectives. Strong interpersonal skills; strong verbal and written and computer skills.

    • Experience:
      • Three to five years of physician recruiting experience or related area of specialty. Healthcare recruiting experience preferred but not required.

    • Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information including but not limited to ePHI and PHI in accordance with organizational policy, Federal, State, and local regulations.
