  • PRIMARY FUNCTION
    • Assist the Risk Manager with all activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence to the company’s Risk Management Program including policies and procedures covering safety, infection control & risk management in compliance with Federal, State and Company practices. The Risk Management Analyst supports operational processes and frequently interacts with other key management staff. This position will coordinate projects with other key functional teams to ensure that all areas are aligned and prepared to meet all regulatory obligations that govern our work. Other duties include investigation, analysis and evaluation of risk and provide recommendation for process improvement.
       
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

    • Assist the Risk Manager with the implementation of the Risk Management, Safety, Infection Control and Workers’ Compensation Programs.
    • Serves as a Policy Administrator liaison between the Risk Manager and all other areas.
    • Provide accurate and timely feedback and research findings on state and federal regulations.
    • Assist in coordination of the Risk / Safety / Infection Control Sub-Committee
    • Serves as an active participant by reporting analysis of incidents at the Risk / Safety / Infection Control Sub-Committee meeting.
    • Assists in development and implementation of safety training programs for compliance with OSHA and other federal, state and local requirements.
    • Conducts research and assist in preparing a variety of statistical and administrative reports.
    • Recommends and develops policies, procedures and guidelines for offices and departments for loss prevention and risk control.
    • Collects data to investigate the frequency or causes of claims or accidents to patients or employees.
    • Analyzes and trends incidents in order to prevent future injuries and to mitigate risks.
    • Supports the Risk Manager in the Root Cause Analysis process.
    • Establishes and administers a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and taking action on all incidents concerning physician/APP performance and risk/safety concerns.
    • Maintains current knowledge of applicable Federal and State privacy laws and accreditation standards, and monitors advancements in all areas of risk management.
    • Provides functional and process support to staff including training, problem-solving and report writing.
 
  • PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s degree in health care management desired

    • Licensure:
      • RHIA, RHIT or CRCMP certification preferred

    • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Experience:
      • Minimum of 3 years working as a healthcare risk management professional
      • Strong critical thinking skills & detail oriented
      • Administrative assistant skills including, but not limited to, minute taking, efficient scheduling of meetings, appointments, conferences
      • Effective communication skills which are utilized for responding to employees and patients’ incidents
      • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

    • Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information including but not limited to ePHI and PHI in accordance with organizational policy, Federal, State, and local regulations.
